Low emission zones in Oberhausen
Taking effect from 1 October 2008, some parts of the city of Oberhausen were declared to low emission zones. Signs have already been placed for information purposes. From this date, the designated low emission zones may only be passed through by vehicles having the respectively coloured environmental badge affixed to the windscreen.
Should your car fail to carry the environmental badge the official fine will amount to € 40.00. Apart from that, one point will be registered in the driving license record.
We therefore recommend our guests from the Netherlands to take the motorway No. 3 and the A42 in case you approach CentrO directly. This route will not require the environmental badge as CentrO is located in a so-called fringe area of the low emission zone.
However, should you intend to continue your journey beyond our premises, we recommend to buy the necessary badge before departure. Visitors from abroad will not be exempted from the fine of € 40.00 or registration in the driving license record. In the Netherlands, the badge is available at „TüV Nord“ at the price of € 12.90. You can then enjoy your trip to CentrO unworried.
